TESTIMONIALS

This thing is a beast, very good bang for your buck. It looks fantastic, I love it and I'm obsessed with riding it any excuse I can come up with. I use it to commute to work (5kms), but I tend to take the scenic route now (10-15kms each way). I'll go over my experience in the first month, and finally what I think could be improved.

The hardware exceeded my expectations. I took some getting used to, as this is my first electric skateboard. It's heavier than I expected, while the kick-tail is useful it's difficult to move more than about 45 degrees at a time. Previously, I rode a 300W escooter, and I was used to punching the accelerator all the way as soon as I take off. Don't try that on this board, the front wheels just lunch in the air and you fly off backwards! It didn't help that I started out in speed mode 2 by accident. Even speed mode one acceleration was a bit much at first, I had to dial it back using the mobile app. After about 40kms I started to relax and really got the hang of. Practicing figure 8's helped. A month in and I've clocked up 250kms and can comfortably ride mode 3 full speed on a good surface.

When it arrived, I checked it over and the quality was good, everything was tight except I noticed one belt was a little looser than the other (I adjusted them to be about the same just to keep the motor wear even). One of the motor cables hung a little lower than the other. Not a big deal, I used a zip tie to address that. The trucks were way too tight, but that was probably a good thing at first until I was ready to start practicing tight turns at speed, then I losened them as much as possible. I have found the bushings to be pretty good. I'm not going much over 30km/hr most of the time, and have very few wobbles. I just noticed that I must have gotten the smallest amount of wheel bite at some stage, I didn't notice when it happened though and I turn pretty hard. You can see in the photo, the plastic motor mount cover wear and tear. I think this occurs when going over curbs on a 45 degree angle or lower for riding comfort. I've also noticed my belts seem have have taken a little wear from this too. I'm trying to avoid further wear now by coming in more perpendicular and just jumping over the lip of such curbs. The spare belts that came in the box are much appreciated, I haven't had to use them yet touch wood, but I keep one with me at all times just incase.

I don't need much range and tend to top the battery up enough for a 10-30 minute ride, trying not to fully charge it to maximise the battery life. Based on battery drain though, I calculate I'd get about 25km range on a full charge, averaging 25km/hr (I'm about 85kg). Depending on the road surface, I need to take breaks every 15 mins when my toes go numb, but you do get used to moving your feet around to try and avoid it. The longest ride I've taken it on was about 50 minutes with a couple of breaks along the way.

I don't care about missing features that other more expensive boards have, I like the minimalism of this board and the lower cost that comes with it, please keep up the good work in that respect. WowGo is the muscle car of the esk8 scene.

Things I would like to see improved in future, I'd like to see some grip-tape colour options (bring back the purple!). The wear on the tail bugged me at first, but I got over it pretty quick. Could it be possible to have the plastic tail puck envelope the back of the tail to keep the paint work pristine for a little longer though? I think it would be good to reduce the max speed of the various modes. I'd like to be able to teach my kids to ride it at 10km/hr first, and some times there are 10km/hr speed limits. It would make mode 3 and 4 more useful if I could likewise drop those speeds. I don't think I'll ever use mode 4 except one day fully padded up with expensive bushings just to say that I have done it. Oh yeah, and beware that sometimes you have to re-pair the remote and the odometer loses your kms. So if you care about how many kms you have put on it, take note regularly.

The board is just what I hoped for. It’s very quick and nimble, perfect for city riding. I can keep up and even pass cars on the road. It makes commuting to the library so much quicker. With a top speed of 28 mph this little machine is a beast! The range of very respectable as well, and the ability to climb steep hills is insane. Very happy with this board and I hope to ride it for a long time.

The is board is so sick!! I can shred mad gnar with this thing!! The hand held remote takes some getting used to but it’s super easy still. I love it all, well done you guys!

I was skeptical at first but the quality, acceleration and speed of this has more than exceeded my expectations. I bought the package with both wheels. The 90 mm wheels are fine, but once I put on the cloud wheels I can't see myself ever going back to the 90mm. Highly recommend getting cloud wheels as your primary option. After 3 weeks of owning the board considering buying another model to compliment my mini 2

Great little board!
It's so much more convenient for trips to the shop than my long board.
I expected the maneuverability from the short wheelbase and kick-tail, but I'm pleasantly surprised at how stable at speed it is :)

Wow. Already been a year since I bought it. Never had any issues with it. Super fun rides. Made my life much easier with short commute. All in all, I love my board. Worth every penny!
